Indri Trini emerges from the sun-scorched plains of Rajasthan, India — a landscape as unlikely for whisky-making as it is unforgettable. Here, at the Piccadily Distillery, traditional Indian six-row barley is cultivated using indigenous, sustainable methods that yield smaller harvests but impart a distinctly fruity and floral character found nowhere else in the world.
The name "Trini" is a nod to the trinity at the heart of this whisky — a marriage of three different wood casks: ex-bourbon, ex-French wine, and ex-sherry — each lending its own voice to a beautifully layered spirit.
The seed for this nectar was sown in the barren desert. Indri uses traditional Indian six-row barley, cultivated using old indigenous practices that rely on organic and sustainable methods. The yield may be smaller, but it lends a fruity and floral distinctive taste to the spirit.
Each cask adds its own dimension: ex-bourbon contributes vanilla and coconut notes; PX sherry casks impart a dark amber colour with sweet black currant notes; and ex-French wine casks lend a honey and peppery finish.
Aroma: Caramelized pineapple, vanilla, hints of black tea and raisins, with a citrus lift and subtle nuttiness.
Taste: Rich and layered — vanilla and coconut from the bourbon, dark fruit sweetness from the sherry, a honey-peppery warmth from the French wine casks.
Finish: Long and smooth, with lingering spice and warmth that invites the next sip.
