Six bottles of India's first mountain berry gin. Naturally blush. Unsweetened. Uncoloured. Utterly unlike anything else on the shelf.
The Cherrapunji Berry Gin is built on the same award-winning rainwater-distilled base as the Eastern Craft Gin — then elevated with wild Sohiong berries and Dyingling cherry blossoms, both harvested by hand for just a few weeks each autumn in the Khasi and Jaintia Hills.
A wild berry. Six weeks a year. Nowhere else on earth.
Deep in the Khasi and Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya, as the monsoon rains retreat and the highlands begin to bloom pink with Dyingling cherry blossoms, the Sohiong berry quietly ripens. It grows uncultivated, entirely on its own terms, for no more than six weeks each autumn. It is known only to those who live closest to the land — and harvested by the same local farmers who have always known where to find it.
Cherrapunji Berry Gin was built around this single, elusive ingredient. Not to let the fruit overpower the gin, but to let it support it — adding dark, sweet-tart depth and structural complexity while keeping the spirit composed, layered, and true to its base.
What makes it extraordinary:
The Sohiong berry is macerated and infused — never extracted — preserving its flavour integrity. The Dyingling cherry blossoms are cold-infused at peak bloom, spending just enough time in the spirit to leave a soft, lifted floral character without competing with the berry. The result is a naturally blush gin: no colouring, no sweeteners, nothing manufactured. Taro root (Kashriew in Khasi) adds a rounded, vanilla-like creaminess and mouthfeel. Khasi mandarin and Kaji Nemu lemon lift the whole profile with a clean citrus edge. Eastern Himalayan juniper anchors it all.
Tasting profile:
The bottle: The same military-grade SS304 stainless steel as the original — 158 grams, reusable for 12+ years, fully recyclable. The Berry Gin carries its own distinct visual identity, extending the Cherrapunji Eastern Craft legacy with illustrations that reflect the highland landscape in its autumn bloom.
Sourced in season. Produced in restraint. Sohiong is inherently seasonal and harvested in limited quantities. Cherrapunji produces in rhythm with its natural availability — not scaling beyond what the land offers. Every bottle in this pack represents that commitment.
