Deep in the Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, Northeast India, a craft gin distillery does something no one else does: it harvests rainwater to make its spirits. Not as a marketing story – but as an obligation to the land that gives them everything.
Cherrapunji Eastern Craft Gin is the original expression. Built on 12 native botanicals – GI-tagged Khasi mandarin, Kaji Nemu lemon from Assam, wild long pepper from the Garo Hills, pine-smoked tea from the Lushai Hills, black cardamom from Sikkim, and Eastern Himalayan juniper – it opens with a bright citrus burst, moves into creamy spice, and finishes long with a subtle smoky-earthy echo.
Cherrapunji Berry Gin is what happens when restraint meets an elusive wild fruit. Each autumn, for just six weeks, the Sohiong berry ripens uncultivated in the Khasi and Jaintia Hills. Harvested by hand, it is paired with cold-infused Dyingling cherry blossom petals. No colouring, no sweeteners, nothing manufactured – a naturally blush gin with sweet-tart berry, soft floral lift and a smooth, rounded finish.
Both expressions are distilled in energy-efficient Dutch stills and bottled in reusable stainless steel weighing just 158 g.
